Issues from the factory
The rod was very well packed from the Vandam Warehouse, and was probably one of the best packed rods I have ever seen and I have been around a long time. The rod had issues right out of the box with one or more of the guides being bad as it was shredding the fishing line as the line went through the guides as it was being reeled in. It would have been better if the rod had been damaged during shipping as when I notified the VD Warehouse I was told that it was a manufacturers defect so I had to go through Lews. Going through Lews was a waste of time because they kept requesting a picture of the broken rod but the rod was not broken in the conventional way. After numerous email explaining to Lews what the problem was with pics of the damaged line it was obvious this was going nowhere with them. So I contacted VD Warehouse. Basically was told that they too have had nothing but problems with Lews. Poor product quality and bad customer service. VD Warehouse did take the rod back but not too sure about telling a customer to deal with the problem when something was new out of the shipping tube. This wasn't like it was used for a few weeks and then something went south...this issue was in place before the rod even shipped. Everyone at VD Warehouse was nice to talk with.
