KVD1SH Reel
I’ve found the KVD1SH Lew’s Reel to be the best Lew’s reel I own… The casting brake control to be great for skipping and swim jigs… Fighting brake has good power and is very smooth… Reel is very smooth and fits the hand comfortably and makes a day of fishing more relaxing… I would highly recommend this reel…

recently bought this reel on sale from vandam warehouse here. when i first open the package the reel box was banged up some, it had no paper work at all with it and it felt a little sluggish when free spinning the spool. I have to say I was disappointed and was thinking I was sold some returned reject reel, or maybe even a reel that was used for a weekend.. who knows.. BUT i actually took it all apart and used some quantum hot sauce oil on all the bearings and put grease on the main gear using the lube port.. all of which was very easy to do.. which was a huge bonus, i put this reel on a fenwick techna medium light fast action rod. and spooled the reel with 1 lb diameter 8 lb test original power pro yellow line.. and will be using the set up for TRD specific applications with z man 1/6 oz ned heads and trds's of different kinds. i weighed one on scales 1/4 ounce total weight 1/6 oz z man head with finesse trd . i used a foot meter in the side yard and measured off and marked out 20-30-40 and 50 yard marks. this reel and rod set up just cast that 1/4 ounce bait over 40 yards and it is still not even fully tuned in. i am thinking 50 yard casts easy after the reel breaks in and brakes are fine tuned.. I live in jackson. one city away so i had very fast shipping. i am probably a new life customer for these guys at the vandam warehouse. can't say enough good things and am telling everyone i know how great you all are
