Good Base for DIY
The Apex platform is a good start for a DIY project. It's completely smooth, so I had to add non-skid paint. It rings out metal on metal contact, so I put camoform tape around the post and outside edge. The buckle got wrapped in a piece of bicycle inner tube. When all is said and done, I saved about $100 over a Predator platform and get a light, quiet and comfortable platform.
